Overview

Consistent retention, seam to seam.

A filter bag is only as good as its weakest opening, and in most bags that is the seam. Sewn seams leave needle holes larger than the media rating, which quietly bypasses exactly the particles the bag was bought to capture.

STRATA bags are welded, not sewn. Ultrasonic and thermal welding produces a continuous, hole-free seam with the same rating as the media itself, so the stated micron figure applies to the entire bag surface rather than to most of it.

Media is calendered to a controlled depth on rated grades. Uncalendered felt sheds fibre into the filtrate and drifts finer as it compacts; single-side glazing fixes the pore structure and eliminates fibre migration without sacrificing dirt-holding capacity.

Configurations

  • Needle felt (PP/PET)

Depth filtration with high dirt-holding for general process duty.

  • Monofilament mesh

Surface filtration, washable and reusable, precise cut-point.

  • Multi-layer composite

Graded density delivering three to five times the life of single-layer felt.

  • Absolute-rated felt

Calendered with a defined beta ratio for validated retention duty.

  • High-temperature (Nomex/PTFE)

Hot oil, resin and chemical streams up to 260 °C.

Advantages

What this platform does that a catalogue item does not.

Welded seams, no needle holes

Continuous ultrasonic seams mean the rating applies across the entire bag, not just the area between stitches.

Glazed to stop fibre migration

Controlled single-side calendering fixes the pore structure so the bag does not shed fibre or drift finer in service.

Multi-layer grades that last

Graded-density composites deliver three to five times the service life of equivalent single-layer felt at the same rating.

Collars that seal under load

Snap-band and steel collar geometry is matched to our restrainer baskets so differential pressure cannot lift the seal.

FAQs

Questions engineers ask about filter bags

Felt filters by depth, holds far more solids and suits deformable particles. Mesh filters by surface, gives a precise cut-point, and is washable and reusable. High solids load points to felt; a sharp, repeatable cut-point points to mesh.
