Collapse rating is calculated, not assumed
Reinforcement ring spacing is derived from open-area ratio and basket length for the actual duty, then proof-tested to 3.5 bar minimum.
Simplex, duplex and Y-type strainers with reinforced baskets that survive the surge event rather than collapsing into the impeller.
Overview
A strainer basket has one job on its worst day: hold together when a slug of debris arrives at full line velocity. Most collapse failures are not media failures — they are the perforated cylinder buckling because the reinforcement ring spacing was chosen from a catalogue rather than calculated.
GUARD baskets are designed to a 3.5 bar collapse differential as standard, with ring spacing derived from the actual open-area ratio and basket length. Where the duty warrants it, we specify a heavy-duty variant rated to 7 bar.
The duplex configuration uses a single-lever transflow valve that transitions between chambers without interrupting flow and without a momentary dead-head. On critical pump-protection duty this is the difference between a planned basket clean and an unplanned shutdown.
Configurations
GUARD-S
Simplex basket strainer with quick-open cover for routine pump protection.
GUARD-D
Duplex strainer with single-lever transflow valve, zero-interruption change-over.
GUARD-Y
Y-type inline strainer for compact installations and steam service.
GUARD-T
Fabricated T-type for large-bore pipelines up to 48 inches.
GUARD-AUTO
Motorised self-cleaning variant with scraper and purge valve.
Reinforcement ring spacing is derived from open-area ratio and basket length for the actual duty, then proof-tested to 3.5 bar minimum.
The single-lever transflow valve crosses over without a dead-head instant, protecting pumps that cannot tolerate a flow interruption.
Rolled-and-welded perforated sheet with a formed rim withstands repeated pressure-washing and manual scraping without distortion.
An 8:1 open-area ratio keeps clean-condition pressure drop under 0.1 bar at rated flow, so nothing is stolen from the pump curve.
