Membranes are the most expensive component in modern water treatment and the most sensitive to what reaches them. Pre-treatment failure is not a filtration problem — it is a membrane replacement invoice.

Membrane protection

SDI must be held below 3 consistently; a single excursion can foul a membrane train irrecoverably.

Seasonal raw water variability

Biofouling control

Biological growth on screens and membranes needs designed-in cleaning frequency rather than reactive chemical dosing.

Tightening discharge limits

Suspended solids and micro-plastic limits continue to fall, forcing polishing stages onto plants built without them.
