In chemical service the filtration rating is rarely the hard part — chemical compatibility is. A wrong elastomer or an unconsidered chloride excursion can take a line down within weeks of start-up.

Elastomer and media compatibility

Seal and media selection must survive the full solvent, acid and oxidiser inventory including CIP and passivation chemistry.

Temperature and viscosity swings

A stream that filters cleanly at 80 °C can blind at ambient. Sizing must cover the whole envelope, including start-up.
